RAOB - Where to find us.

We meet in the upper room of the Fountain Hotel Liskeard every Tuesday evening. Lodge opening time is 7.30pm. If you arrive early you will find our members in the main bar on the ground floor partaking of the golden nectar.

For the benefit of the unenlightened, our objects are to assist necessitous members and the widows and orphans of deceased members; to support such external philanthropic and charitable objects at both national and local levels as may be deemed desirable; and to encourage fraterity and mutual intercourse amongst our members.

The Liskerrett Lodge was founded on 4th February 1921 when representation was made by the following: G Cook ROH, P Dennis KOM, R Hutchins KOM and J Barrow KOM. IT it amalgamated with the Dupath Lodge of Callington some four years ago.

To give an example of who we are our membership consists of Ex RN, Ex Army, Ex RAF, Shop Keepers, Central Heeting Technicians, Dockyard Workers, Heavy Goods Drivers, Civil Servants, Printers and Farmers.

Beside the sometimes raukus laughter within the Lodge we also have a weekly 'Charity Charge' the proceeds of which are added to our Annual Chosen Charity (see link to the right). The Provincial Grand Primo's Annual Appeal is also supported.

ALL members of the Order are made most welcome. Buffaloes can also add to our blog if you have a comment by using 'comment tool' below.

THE SALLYANNS

To date the Liskerrett Dupath Lodge has sent donations to the Salvation Army (Liskeard) to part fund their Easter Breakfasts and Christmas Dinners for the elderly and disadvantaged living in the Liskeard area. This is very much a local need and it is likely our support will continue.

Your visit to and attendance at the Liskerrett Dupath Lodge will help us to maintain our aims.

THE PROVINCIAL GRAND PRIMO'S APPEAL 2008

This year's PGP is a Member of our Lodge and his appeal for this year is to provide funds to help the League of Friends of the Liskeard Community Hospital to equip and furnish the. This is a new venture for the hospital and will enable Oncology patients to be treated locally and not have to make tiring journeys to Derriford hospital. The PGP is to make a sponsored drive around all the Province Lodges in one day. All are invited to guess the total mileage.

QUIZ NIGHT

On Friday 24th October The Liskerrett Dupath Lodge held a QUIZ NIGHT at the Fountain Hotel Liskeard.  Whilst the aim of the evening was  mainly for fun and to promote the Lodge any surplus cash raised will go to the PGP's appeal.  The evening was enhanced by our Ladies and friends plus members of the Essa Lodge of Saltash and their Ladies.  This was a successful happy evening with raffle prizes and an excellent buffet supplied by the Fountain Hotel plus the obligitary Cornish Pasties.  Look out because it will happen again in the future.

CHOSEN CHARITY 2008

At our meeting of Tuesday 28th October it was decided that our chosen charity for 2008 would by our own Provinal Grand Primo's Appeal.  Therefore all monies raised for this fund will be handed to PGP at the end of the year to be added to his fund for the CHEMOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT at Liskeard Hospital.
